Remove bacysobste.com notifications

bacysobste.com is a scam website whose sole purpose is to trick users into allowing desktop ads. The site misuses a legitimate browser feature to do this. When you get redirected to the site, you will immediately get a browser alert saying “bacysobste.com wants to show notifications”, and if you click “Allow”, you will authorize bacysobste.com to show ads on the desktop. Those ads will not only be annoying but may also expose you to potentially dangerous content, including malware and scams. Fortunately, it’s not difficult to revoke a site’s permission via your browser’s settings. Instructions will be provided at the end of the report.

The “show notifications” feature is legitimate and can be enabled for safe websites that provide valuable content. The notifications’ content depends on what the site posts. For instance, enabling notifications for a news website will deliver important alerts directly to your desktop, and clicking on them will take you to the content. This feature can be useful, and its permission can easily be revoked by adjusting your browser settings. If unsure how to do this, instructions are available at the end of the report.

However, this feature is often exploited by dubious websites like bacysobste.com. Although it appears as if the site has content, as it briefly plays a video but in reality, it’s an empty site. Upon being redirected to it, your browser will prompt you with an alert saying “bacysobste.com wants to show notifications”. Notifications from such sites are unsafe as they spam your desktop with ads, some of which may expose you to harmful content, scams, or malicious software. If you have granted such permissions, it is crucial to revoke them immediately.

Random redirects can result from adware infections on your computer. To check if adware is the cause, scan your system using an antivirus program like WiperSoft. Removing adware will stop the redirects. However, more often, redirects occur when visiting high-risk websites. Installing an ad-blocker program can significantly help by blocking ads and redirects.

What triggers random redirects to sites like bacysobste.com

When visiting high-risk websites, users are often redirected due to the ads these sites display. Sites with pornographic or pirated content are particularly guilty of bombarding ads. However, adblockers effectively block intrusive ads and redirects, significantly improving your browsing experience.

If you experience random redirects even on safe websites, your computer might be infected with adware or similar malware. While adware and browser hijackers don’t directly harm your computer, they are persistent and annoying. Many users unknowingly install these infections through software bundling, where said infections are added as extra offers to free programs. These offers are optional, but they are hidden in Default settings, making them easy to miss.

To prevent adware and similar infections, always use Advanced (Custom) settings when installing free programs. Unlike Default settings, Advanced settings reveal all added offers, giving you the option to deselect them. Simply uncheck any boxes for unwanted programs to avoid accidental installations. It’s always a good idea to decline all extra offers to keep your system free from junk.

Scan your computer with anti-virus software like WiperSoft to check if an adware infection is causing the random redirects. Anti-spyware software is the easiest way to find and remove infections. If adware is the issue, removing it will stop the redirects. Installing an adblocker program can also help block intrusive ads and redirects, especially when visiting high-risk websites.
