What is BrowserArmor?

BrowserArmor is an advertisement-supported application that shows various commercials on your screen. It affects all major browsers. The software has an official site, browserarmor.com, where it is promoted as a tool that will help you stay away from harmful sites that could compromise your online security and trick you into infecting your system with malware. If you try to download the program from this page, a “Sorry, our extension is down for maintence and currently unavailable” pop-up will appear on your screen. This can only mean that the adware gets distributed using the bundling method and that you most likely never wanted it on your PC to begin with. If that is the case, we suggest that you terminate BrowserArmor right away.

How does BrowserArmor work?

Despite the fact that the application is promoted as something useful, BrowserArmor does not actually have any beneficial features. Its main purpose is to flood you with commercial data as that is how its developers make profit. The adware enters your system, installs extensions into all of your browsers and starts filling them with ads, pop-ups, banners, sponsored links and more. It should be mentioned that the latest version of Google Chrome actually blocks the extension.

The main issue with the program, which is practically identical to Price-slayer, Price-Horse, PriceChomper and some other ad-supported software, is that it shows you sponsored content that is not safe. The adware exposes you to unreliable ads that could redirect you to corrupted pages. If you land on a corrupted site, you may infect your PC with potentially unwanted or even malicious programs or suffer other undesirable consequences. That is why we advise that you get rid of BrowserArmor without delay and thus improve your cyber security level.
