Herelations.fun pop-up ads removal

“Herelations.fun wants to show notifications” is the message you will see when you get redirected to Herelations.fun. It’s a scam website that tries to trick users into allowing ads on the desktop. If you press “Allow” on the alert, the site will all but spam you with ads, some of which could be dangerous to interact with.

What is Herelations.fun

Herelations.fun is a spam website and it’s trying to trick you into allowing ads on your desktop. It does that by misusing a legitimate browser feature that allows sites with users’ permission to show notifications on their desktop. If you allow Herelations.fun to show those notifications, you will be spammed with advertisements. Considering that Herelations.fun is questionable, you can expect that its ads will be worse.  If you agree to the notifications, they will appear on your desktop’s right side. If you pay close attention, you may notice that they appear at a similar place to legitimate system notifications. And if the notifications are made to look legitimate enough, it would not be difficult to trick unsuspecting users into interacting with them. If you click on the wrong notification, you may be led to sites promoting questionable/malicious programs or hosting scams. If you have allowed the site to show notifications, you need to revoke the permission as soon as possible.

That’s not to say that the feature does not have legitimate uses, however. The contents of the notifications depend on the site that shows them. So allowing a legitimate site to show notifications means the notifications will be legitimate as well. As an example, if you allow a news website to show notifications, you will see alerts about important news stories. Clicking on the alerts would take you directly to the news article. This permission is easily revokable whenever you want.

To determine why you are redirected to sites like Herelations.fun, we strongly recommend you scan your computer with anti-virus software such as WiperSoft. The program would show whether you are redirected by adware or if the issue lies elsewhere. It’s also possible that you are redirected by sites you visit, in which case an adblocker would help.

Redirects to sites like Herelations.fun can indicate an adware infection

With primary symptoms being pop-ups and redirects, adware is a pretty noticeable infection. If redirects happen when browsing safe sites, then you’re likely dealing with adware. Adware uses software bundling to install, which allows it to sneak in unnoticed. In basic terms, infections like adware and browser hijackers come attached to free programs in a way that allows them to install alongside automatically. The only way to prevent this from happening is to deselect the offers during the installation. But because the offers are initially hidden, many users are not able to deselect them. If you want to prevent unwanted installations, always use Advanced (Custom) settings when installing free programs. Those settings will display all added offers and you’ll be able to deselect all of them. Only once you deselect the offers can you continue installing the free programs.

The issue could also be the sites you visit. If the redirect happened when you were browsing a high-risk site (adult or pirated content), your browsing habits may need to be revised. You need to either stop vising high-risk websites or install an adblocker program to block the redirects.
