How to delete News-lutyf.cc ads

News-lutyf.cc is a scam website that pushes a social-engineering scam in order to spam you with advertisements. When you get redirected to it, a browser notification will appear saying “News-lutyf.cc wants to show notifications”. If you press “Allow”, you will be spammed with ads on your desktop.

News-lutyf.cc is essentially trying to trick you into allowing advertisements on your desktop. It misuses a legitimate feature that allows websites to keep users updated with what they post. But since News-lutyf.cc is a scam website, its notifications will be ads, potentially dangerous ones at that. There’s really no reason to allow News-lutyf.cc to show notifications, as you’ll just be spammed with advertisements. However, if you have given it permission, you should be very careful about not interacting with any of the ads. Some of them may be prompting you to install highly questionable programs or even malware. Others may show scams, inviting you to participate in fake giveaways. If you have allowed it to show notifications, you need to revoke that permission as soon as possible.

It should be said that allowing a legitimate site to show notifications is perfectly safe. What kind of content you will see depends on what the site usually posts. If, for example, you allow a news website to show notifications, they will be news alerts. If you click on the alert you will be taken directly to the news article. If you allow a travel-themed site to show notifications, it may show you alerts about new travel destinations or discounts. When you no longer want to see the notifications, you can easily revoke that permission. If you’re not familiar with how to do that, use the directions we have provided at the very end of the report.

We recommend scanning your computer with anti-virus software to determine whether adware is installed on your computer. A program like WiperSoft would detect and remove News-lutyf.cc adware, which would stop the redirects. If it’s not adware, the sites you visit may be triggering the redirects.

Redirects to random websites can mean an adware infection

If you are only randomly redirected when visiting certain websites, the sites may have questionable ads. Interacting with anything when visiting high-risk websites (such as ones that have pornography or pirated content) can trigger redirects, thus having an adblocker program installed is essential. It may also be beneficial to review your browsing habits and possibly avoid visiting certain sites in the future.

If it’s adware, the issue is a bit more complicated. As long as the adware remains installed, the redirects will continue. You should also review your program installation habits as adware and similar infections install because users are inattentive when installing freeware. Adware, browser hijackers, and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) use software bundling to install, which essentially means they come attached to free software as extra offers. When something is attached to a free program, that something is permitted to install alongside automatically. However, the offers are optional, you just need to manually stop them from installing. To do that, opt for Advanced (Custom) settings when installing a free program. Those settings will not only allow you to review everything that has been added, but also give you the option to deselect the offers. We highly recommend you always uncheck all offers, even if they appear useful at first sight. If a program uses software bundling to sneak in, it does not belong on your computer.

News-lutyf.cc removal

How you can stop the redirects depends on what’s causing them. If your computer is infected with adware, you will need to get rid of it. The easiest way to do that is to use anti-virus software such as WiperSoft, as the program would take care of everything.

If the sites you visit are what’s triggering the redirects, you need to be more careful about which sites you browse. You should also install an adblocker program if you do not already have it.
