Remove enzav.xyz pop-up ads

enzav.xyz is a scam website that tries to trick users into allowing desktop ads. This is done by using a legitimate browser feature that allows sites with permission to show notifications on users’ desktops. However, instead of showing useful notifications, sites like enzav.xyz show ads, potentially dangerous ones at that. These ads will appear on the desktop, similarly to where legitimate notifications appear. This is very problematic because you may be tricked into engaging with enzav.xyz’s ads, which could lead you to malicious or scam content. Fortunately, even if you have given enzav.xyz permission, you can easily revoke it via your browser’s settings. We will provide instructions at the end of the report if you need assistance.

enzav.xyz is a generic website with no content on it. Upon being redirected to it, you will see a video player that does not work and a message saying you need to click “Allow” to watch the video. Your browser will show an alert saying “enzav.xyz wants to show notifications”. Users attempting to access copyrighted content on free illegal sites may be redirected to such sites. However, clicking “Allow” does not play the video; instead, it authorizes the site to display ads as notifications on the right side of the screen, even after the site is closed. Some of these notifications may resemble system alerts, designed to mislead users into interacting with them. Interacting with them could lead users to unsafe websites containing malware or scams.

If you have given this site permission, do not engage with the notifications to avoid being exposed to harmful content. These permissions can be revoked through the browser settings, with detailed instructions available at the end of this report. You should also scan your computer with WiperSoft to check for adware, as well as install an adblocker.

Why are you redirected to sites like enzav.xyz

Random redirects to sites like enzav.xyzz generally happen due to either adware infections or users visiting high-risk sites without an adblocker, with the latter being more common. Many questionable websites, especially those hosting pirated or adult content, expose users to problematic advertisements, including redirects. Fortunately, using a reliable adblocker can effectively prevent such issues.

Adware infections are another potential cause of these redirects. Adware is a relatively low-level infection designed to bombard users with advertisements. It often installs bundled with popular free programs through a method known as software bundling, where optional offers are added and set to install alongside the primary program. To avoid these offers, users must manually deselect them, though they are typically concealed in settings that users seldom use. This makes software bundling a controversial installation method, and many antivirus programs classify programs using this method as potential threats.

Preventing the installation of unwanted programs is not difficult. Always opt for Advanced (Custom) settings instead of Default when installing free programs, as the latter automatically permits additional installations. Advanced settings reveal all offers, allowing users to decline them. It is advisable to uncheck all additional offers, as legitimate programs do not use software bundling.

How to stop enzav.xyz notifications

Use WiperSoft anti-virus software to check your computer for any adware infections. Adware can be tricky, so it’s recommended to use anti-virus tools like WiperSoft. If no adware is detected, the redirects you’re encountering are probably due to the websites you’re visiting. To avoid them, install an ad blocker.
