Remove “Resolv Discord Verification” scam

The “Resolv Discord Verification” scam refers to a malicious attempt to steal users’ cryptocurrencies by imitating the legitimate Resolv website. The “Resolv Discord Verification” scam is hosted on discresolv.xyz, and it claims that users need to complete a Discord verification process in order to access the Discord server. The site looks very similar to the legitimate one (resolv.xyz) in design, though the contents are different. Users who interact with the scam on discresolv.xyz will be asked to connect to their wallets in order to complete the verification process. Doing that will initiate a crypto drainer that will gradually steal funds from the account. It goes without saying that the “Resolv Discord Verification” is in no way related to the legitimate Resolv platform.

Resolv is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol offering USR, a delta-neutral stablecoin fully backed by Ethereum (ETH). By employing a delta-neutral strategy, Resolv hedges against crypto market volatility, aiming to provide price stability and yield generation. The legitimate Resolv has nothing to do with the scam, its name is only used by malicious actors to steal users’ crypto currencies.

The legitimate Resolv site is resolv.xyz, while the scam is hosted on discresolv.xyz. The sites only look similar in design, but not in content. The scam site displays a message saying you ned to go through a Discord verification process to access its Discord server. If you click the “Verify” button, you will be asked to connect to your digital wallet. This will trigger a cryptocurrency drainer that will gradually drain the crypto funds in the wallet. The transactions to malicious actors’ accounts may happen over time, so it may not be noticeable immediately. Unfortunately, once the drainer is activated and transactions have been made, they will be irreversible. Thus, funds would be lost for good.

The popularity of cryptocurrencies has attracted many investors who are not tech-savvy, and they are the prime target of such scams. Users who use cryptocurrencies need to be very careful and become familiar with at least the most common crypto scams to avoid becoming victims.

Social media sites are often used to promote crypto scams like “Resolv Discord Verification”

In most cases, users encounter links to scam sites like “Resolv Discord Verification” via social media posts and comments on various forums, articles, under videos, etc. Malicious actors often use various social media platforms to promote cryptocurrency scams, with X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube being among the most popular platforms for crypto scam advertising. A typical scheme involves impersonating certain people, like Elon Musk, who are known to have some interest in cryptocurrencies. This issue is particularly prevalent on X because it is poorly moderated, which allows numerous crypto scams to thrive. For example, comments under Musk’s tweets are often filled with fake accounts claiming he is hosting giveaways or similar events. These impersonators make barely convincing imitation profiles meant to deceive less experienced or careless users, and post about scams like the “Resolv Discord Verification” scam. YouTube is also commonly used for cryptocurrency scam promotion. Malicious actors hijack abandoned channels with somewhat high numbers of subscribers to upload videos featuring Elon Musk or Tesla events, often promoting bogus crypto giveaways.
