Delete Agreemedy.space ads

Agreemedy.space is a typical scam website that misuses a legitimate browser feature to spam users with ads. When you get redirected to the site, you will be shown a browser alert saying “Agreemedy.space wants to show notifications”. Clicking “Allow” would permit the site to show you ads on your desktop.

Agreemedy.space looks identical to many other websites created for the same purpose. It’s supposed to be an entertainment website that focuses on movie news but it’s essentially a fake page that claims you need to allow notifications to see the contents of the website. If you give the site permission to show those notifications, ads will start appearing on your desktop. The site itself is quite questionable, its ads will likely be worse. Some may be purposely made to look like legitimate system notifications to trick you into engaging with them. You may be tricked into falling for a scam or downloading something malicious. Even if you have allowed these notifications, there’s no reason to continue allowing them, considering they could be harmful. Instructions on how to remove Agreemedy.space from the list of sites with permission will be provided at the very end of the report.

Despite the fact that Agreemedy.space and similar sites misuse this browser feature, it is legitimate. As long as a site is legitimate and safe to use, its notifications will also be safe. Their contents depend on what the site usually posts. For example, a news website would show notifications containing important news.

It is possible that adware is the reason for the redirects, in which case you would need to use anti-virus software to get rid of it. If it’s not adware, installing an adblocker program would suffice.

Can adware cause redirects?

Users are usually redirected for two reasons, either their computer is infected with adware or they browse high-risk websites that can trigger redirects. High-risks sites that have pornography or pirated content often cause redirects, which is why visiting them is only a good idea when you have an adblocker program installed.

If the redirects happen when browsing safe sites and out of the blue, you’re likely dealing with adware. It’s not a particularly serious infection, though dealing with it can be quite frustrating. Adware infections usually install using software bundling, a method that essentially allows them to sneak into computers without users noticing. What happens is infections like adware come attached to free software as extra offers and are permitted to install alongside because of it. So when installing free programs, it’s important to check for extra offers. To do that, choose Advanced (Custom) settings during installation. If anything has been added to the program, those settings will show you, as well as allow you to deselect everything. All you really need to do is uncheck the boxes of the offers, and you can continue the installation.

If the site has permission to show notifications on your desktop, you need to revoke that permission sooner rather than later. This is pretty easy to do but if you do not know how to do that, you can use the below-provided directions to help you.

  • For Mozilla Firefox: Open menu (the three bars top-right corner) -> Options -> Privacy & Security. Scroll down to Permissions, press on Settings next to Notifications, and remove Agreemedy.space and any other questionable website. You can permanently turn off these notification requests by checking the “Block new requests asking to allow notifications” box in the same Notifications settings.
  • For Google Chrome: Open menu (the three dots top-right corner) -> Settings -> Privacy and security -> Site Settings. Click on Notifications under Permissions, and remove Agreemedy.space and any other questionable website. You can stop these notification requests permanently by toggling off “Sites can ask to send notifications”.
  • For Microsoft Edge: Open menu (the three dots top-right corner) -> Settings -> Cookies and site permissions -> Notifications. Review which sites have permission and remove Agreemedy.space and any other questionable website. You can permanently turn off these notification requests by toggling off “Ask before sending”.

We also recommend that you scan your computer with anti-virus software like WiperSoft to check whether an infection such as adware is present. If adware is indeed causing the redirects, the anti-virus program would get rid of it, thus stopping the redirects.
