How to delete Freevideos24h.com pop-up ads

Freevideos24h.com is highly questionable website that pushes a social engineering scam that tries to trick users into subscribing to advertisements. These scams take advantage of a legitimate browser feature that allows websites to send notifications to users.

When you get redirected to Freevideos24h.com, you will get a browser notification that asks you to click “Allow” to continue to the site. The site explains that this is essentially a “confirm you are not a robot” check, which is complete nonsense.

Like we just mentioned, this is a legitimate browser feature that allows certain websites to show users notifications if they get the permission. Those notifications would appear even when users are not visiting the site, such as on the desktop. For example, a news website may ask to send notifications in order to keep users up to date with important news stories without users needing to visit the site. But unfortunately, scammers are misusing this feature to spam users with ads.

If you click Allow when Freevideos24h.com asks to send you notifications, ads will start appearing on your desktop. This is very annoying behaviour because you will be spammed with ads. It’s also somewhat dangerous because in some cases, the ads can be mistaken for legitimate system notifications. So for example, an ad may purposely imitate an update notification to trick you into downloading some kind of potentially malicious program. You could also be tricked into falling for scams the same way.

There is no reason why you should agree to see notifications from sites like Freevideos24h.com, especially since you’re probably randomly redirected to them. However, less-experienced Internet users may not realize what they’re agreeing to when asked to click “Allow” because it looks harmless enough. Fortunately, it’s not difficult to revoke that permission, and we will explain how in the last section of this report.

In order to not get redirected to a site like Freevideos24h.com again, it’s important to understand why you were redirected in the first place. There are two possible causes, either your computer is infected with adware or you were redirected by the site you were visiting. If the redirect happened only once, it’s likely the site you were visiting. However, if you’re constantly getting redirected, you’re probably dealing with adware. If that is the case, you would need to get rid of it to remove Freevideos24h.com redirects permanently.

Adware could be redirecting you to Freevideos24h.com

A lot of websites may be considered high-risk due to the ads they show and the redirects they can trigger. If you were browsing a shady site, it could be the reason behind the redirect. It’s usually sites that host pornography, pirated content, as well as free streaming sites that have questionable ads that you need to be careful of. It’s recommended to have adblocker enabled, as that would at least close the pop-up and redirect windows.

If you’re dealing with adware, you’re likely redirected on a regular basis. Adware is a pretty minor infection that usually installs via free software bundling. It comes attached to freeware as an extra offer, in a way that allows it to install alongside the freeware automatically, without requiring additional permission from you. If you want to correctly install freeware, opt for Advanced (Custom) settings when given the option. Those settings will make all attached offers visible, and you will be able to deselect everything. All you need to do is uncheck the offers.
