Remove Amarktflow virus
What is Amarktflow virus
Amarktflow virus refers to a scam that claims users have won prizes or gift cards. These scams are designed to trick users into revealing their personal information, and they are incredibly common. You must have encountered those old school ads with a gift box image saying a prize is waiting for you in the past, and these Amarktflow ads are the same. More gullible users are tricked into thinking that if they answer a few questions or solve a puzzle, they will win a prize, and when asked, the users provide personal information. Since these “You have won” ads are scams, users are providing their information to scammers.
In most cases, users see these Amarktflow virus ads when visiting high-risk websites. Adult content, gambling, and illegal streaming sites often host these kinds of ads, so if you are an avid visitor, be careful. However, if you are consonantly shown these ads, even when on regular sites, you might have adware installed on your computer. Adware is a minor computer infection that mainly shows ads. If your computer is indeed infected with adware, you will need to first get rid of it to remove Amarktflow virus.
Why are you seeing the advertisements on your screen?
If you are consonantly redirected to amarktflow.com and are shown the ads claiming you have won something, you likely have adware installed. Adware can install unnoticed so you might not even be aware that it’s installed. It, like browser hijackers and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs), uses software bundling to install. Bundling software is essentially adding additional offers to free programs. Most freeware you download from those free download websites will have something attached to it, and unless you manually deselect that something, it will install alongside without you even noticing.
In the future, when you install a free program, make sure you opt for Advanced (Custom) settings when given the option. Those settings, unlike Default, will make all extra offers visible, and you will be able to deselect it/them. We strongly recommend you uncheck all offers when installing freeware because nothing good is ever attached.
What does Amarktflow virus do?
What users call Amarktflow virus is basically the scams shown on amarktflow.com. While the site promotes scams, they might differ from one another. One might claim you have won a $1000 Amazon gift card, while another will try to convince you that by answering a few simple questions you will get an iPhone or a Samsung smartphone. Users who fall for these scams are asked to provide their personal information, supposedly so that the prize could be sent to them. However, in reality, the acquired information would be used to further scam users, or it would be sold on the dark net.
These kinds of giveaways are actually never legitimate. Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Samsung, etc., do not host such giveaways. So whenever you encounter an ad claiming you have won something, know that it’s a scam.
