Rtherdevelo.biz pop-up removal

Rtherdevelo.biz is one of many questionable websites that take advantage of a legitimate browser feature that allows websites to show users notifications. When you get redirected to Rtherdevelo.biz, a notification will pop up saying “Rtherdevelo.biz wants to show notifications”. If you press “Allow”, you will be spammed with ads, even on your desktop.

Rtherdevelo.biz is highly questionable website that will try to trick you into agreeing to see advertisements by misusing a legitimate browser feature. When you visit certain sites, you may encounter a browser notification asking to permit the site to show you notifications. When legitimate sites ask this, they essentially want to keep you informed about important stories, updates, offers, etc., without you needing to visit the sites themselves. Pop-up notifications would appear at the bottom of your screen, even on your desktop. A news website, for example, may show you alerts about important news stories, if you permit it. But while this feature has legitimate uses, a lot of sites like Rtherdevelo.biz misuse them to spam users with ads.

If you press “Allow” when you get the “Rtherdevelo.biz wants to show you notifications” pop-up, get ready to be spammed with ads. This permission is not difficult to revoke, but until you do that, you will see weird notifications on your desktop, some of which could be dangerous. Rtherdevelo.biz is not a safe or reliable website, meaning the ads it shows will also be unsafe. Some of them may be made to appear like legitimate system notifications in hopes to trick you into engaging with them. For example, an ad may appear like an update notification, and trick you into downloading some kind of malware. Until you revoke the permission, avoid clicking on any notifications.

It’s not difficult to revoke a site’s permission to show you notifications, and we will explain how at the very end of the report. You also need to determine why you’re redirected to Rtherdevelo.biz in the first place. If it’s adware, you’d need to get rid of it to remove Rtherdevelo.biz redirects.

Redirects to Rtherdevelo.biz could be caused by adware

If you’re constantly redirected to Rtherdevelo.biz and other similar websites, you may be dealing with adware. It’s not a serious infection and it primarily aims to expose you to as many ads as possible. In this case, it focuses on redirecting you to sites that push social engineering scams to expose you to ads. If you have adware installed, it likely came attached to some free program you installed. When you install a program that has something attached to it, that something will install alongside automatically, unless you manually prevent it from doing that. To correctly install freeware, you need to use Advanced (Custom) settings during installation. Those settings will display all offers that have been added, and you will be able to deselect all of them. Simply unchecking the boxes is enough to prevent their installation.

If you got redirected once or twice when visiting certain high-risk websites, it’s very likely the site that’s to blame. A lot of sites, especially ones hosting pornography or pirated content, have a lot of questionable ads on them and clicking on anything can often trigger a redirect. Browsing those sites with adblocker can go a long way to stop the redirects and questionable ads.
