Xdwhatijunn.xyz ads removal

Xdwhatijunn.xyz is one of the thousands of scam-pushing websites that aim to trick users into allowing push notifications on the desktop. To do this, the site misuses a legitimate browser feature that allows sites with permission to show notifications on the desktop. However, while legitimate sites would show useful content, sites like Xdwhatijunn.xyz would spam ads. It should also be said that the ads will not necessarily be safe because you could be exposed to dangerous content.

Provided that a website is safe, you can allow it to show notifications. After all this feature is legitimate, it’s merely misused by scam sites like Xdwhatijunn.xyz. The contents of those notifications depend on what the site usually posts. For example, a news website would show alerts with important news in them. You can easily stop these notifications whenever you want, and instructions will be provided at the very end of the report.

While the feature is legitimate, it’s often misused by highly questionable websites like Xdwhatijunn.xyz. The site is supposed to be an entertainment site for news about movies but it does not actually have any kind of content. It only displays an image of movie posters and asks that you allow push notifications. As soon as you enter the site, your browser will immediately show an alert saying “Xdwhatijunn.xyz wants to show notifications”. The site may want you to believe that it would show movie news in the notifications but they will be nothing but ads. The ads will appear at a similar place to legitimate notifications, which is an issue. Because the notifications shown by Xdwhatijunn.xyz will not be safe, it’s not a good idea to click on them. But since they appear similarly to where legitimate ones are displayed, it’s not impossible to confuse them. If you have given the site permission to show notifications, revoke that permission as soon as possible. Refer to the last section of the report for instructions on how to do that.

We strongly suggest scanning the computer with anti-virus software to check for adware. The redirects are either caused by adware or by the sites you visit. If you frequent high-risk websites, install an adblocker program to block any ads. If it’s adware, all you need to do is get rid of it to stop the redirects.

Why are you redirected to Xdwhatijunn.xyz

There usually is a good explanation for random redirects, usually either adware or questionable websites. If you regularly visit high-risk websites, random redirects are likely nothing new. Certain websites, such as ones that have pornography or pirated content, are considered to be high-risk due to the ads they host. Having an adblocker program is essential when visiting them, as pop-ups and redirects would be blocked.

It’s less common for redirects to random sites to be triggered by adware. Adware tries to expose users to as much advertisement content as possible but it’s harmless otherwise. If your computer does have adware, the redirects will be much more common and happen even when you visit safe sites. Adware, along with infections like browser hijackers and potentially unwanted programs, installs using the software bundling method, which essentially means that it comes attached to free software as an extra offer. The offers are permitted to install alongside the program they’re attached to, and no explicit permission is necessary. These offers are set to install alongside automatically, but they are optional. It’s very easy to deselect them, provided you pay attention when installing free programs. Most users aren’t able to deselect the offers simply because they tend to rush the installation process.

To correctly install free programs, read the information provided in the windows. Most importantly, opt for Advanced or Custom settings when given the option. You may notice that the installation window recommends using Default settings but that’s not a good idea. Default settings will conceal the offers and allow them to install alongside automatically. However, if you opt for Advanced settings, the offers will become visible, and you will have the option to deselect all of them. All you need to do is uncheck the boxes. It’s recommended to deselect all offers, even if they appear useful at first sight. Software bundling is a very questionable installation method, and programs that use it should not be permitted to install. Allowing these installations is a quick way to fill your computer with junk that can be difficult to get rid of.

If you are redirected to Xdwhatijunn.xyz or similar sites, either you visit high-risk websites or your computer is infected with a threat like adware. The easiest way to determine why you are redirected is by scanning the computer with anti-virus software like WiperSoft. If the program detects adware, removing it would stop the redirects. If no adware is found, your visited sites are likely what’s causing the issues. Simply install an adblocker program to block the redirects and intrusive pop-ups for when you browse high-risk sites.
