How to remove Ntpositioena.top ads

Ntpositioena.top is a very generic scam website that misuses a legitimate browser feature that allows sites to show users notifications on the desktop. Only instead of useful content, the site would spam your desktop with ads. When you get redirected to the site, your browser will show an alert saying “Ntpositioena.top wants to show notifications”. If you click “Allow”, ads will start appearing on your desktop.

Ntpositioena.top is made to appear like a sports news website but that’s merely a ruse to trick users. The site is identical to the tiniest detail to other scam sites like Ethistory1.xyz, Fromyourco.biz, and Catests.space. They all try to trick users into allowing “notifications” by claiming that it would allow them to actually browse the site. There’s really no reason to press “Allow” on the “Ntpositioena.top wants to show notifications” alert, especially if you were randomly redirected to the site. Considering that the site itself is a scam, its notifications would be worse. The notifications would appear on the desktop’s right side, similarly to where system notifications appear. They may purposely be made to resemble the legitimate notifications to trick users into interacting with them. If you have, for whatever reason, allowed these notifications, revoke that permission as soon as possible. And do not interact with any of its notifications, as you could be exposed to potentially dangerous content such as malware and scams.

While sites like Ntpositioena.top misuse the “show notifications” feature, it’s perfectly safe to allow a legitimate site to show notifications. What kind of notifications a site shows depends on what kind of content a website usually posts. For example, a news website would show important news alerts. A travel website may show alerts about new travel destinations or discounts. When you no longer want to see the notifications, the permission to show them is easily revokable. If you are not aware of how to do it, use the directions provided in the very last section of this report.

To determine the exact reason for redirects to sites like Ntpositioena.top, we suggest scanning the computer with anti-virus software like WiperSoft. If adware is detected, removing it would stop the redirects. If it’s not adware, you may need to review your browsing habits and install an adblocker program.

Adware distribution methods

It’s important that you determine the reason if you suddenly get redirected to random sites like Ntpositioena.top because it’s possible that you are dealing with an actual infection. If that is the case, the redirects will continue until you get rid of the infection. It’s most likely adware, which is not considered to be a particularly serious computer infection, more of an annoyance that focuses on exposing users to as much sponsored content as possible. Adware installs via free software bundling, which is why many users are taken by surprise when they notice its presence. Infections like adware essentially come attached to free software as extra offers that are permitted to install alongside without requiring any additional permission from users. Furthermore, the majority of free programs that are downloaded from non-official websites will come with added offers. They are optional but need to be deselected manually to prevent their installation. And because they are hidden initially, many users simply do not notice the offers.

If you want to avoid installing unwanted offers, you need to pay attention when installing free programs. Most importantly, opt for Advanced (Custom) settings when given the option during the installation process. Unlike Default settings, Advanced will show all added offers, allowing you to deselect what you do not want. We do not recommend allowing any offers to install because while they may seem useful at first, they will only be a nuisance later on. No legitimate program will try to bypass your permission by trying to install via software bundling. If you allow the offers to install, your computer will fill up with junk in no time. And those unwanted programs can be difficult to remove once installed.

While an adware infection is possible, it’s more likely that the sites you visit trigger the redirects. There are a lot of high-risk websites on which interacting with anything could trigger some kind of redirect, particularly sites that have pornographic or pirated content. If you frequent such sites, we strongly recommend installing an adblocker program as it would block the redirects altogether or at the very least close the windows as they pop up.

Ntpositioena.top removal

There’s no reason to allow a site like Ntpositioena.top to show notifications because they’re basically ads. However, if you have allowed it, for whatever reason, you can easily revoke that permission. If you don’t know how to do it, use the directions provided below to delete Ntpositioena.top from the list of sites with permission. Remove all other sites you do not recognize or now realize are unsafe.

  • For Mozilla Firefox: Open menu (the three bars top-right corner) -> Options -> Privacy & Security. Scroll down to Permissions, press on Settings next to Notifications, and remove Ntpositioena.top and any other questionable website. • For Google Chrome: Open menu (the three dots top-right corner) -> Settings -> Privacy and security -> Site Settings. Click on Notifications under Permissions, and remove Ntpositioena.top and any other questionable website. You can stop these notification requests permanently by toggling off “Sites can ask to send notifications”.
  • For Microsoft Edge: Open menu (the three dots top-right corner) -> Settings -> Cookies and site permissions -> Notifications. Review which sites have permission and remove Ntpositioena.top and any other questionable website. You can permanently turn off these notification requests by toggling off “Ask before sending”.

Because it’s possible that you’re dealing with an adware infection, we strongly recommend scanning the computer with anti-virus software like WiperSoft. If you delete Ntpositioena.top adware, the redirects would stop. If no adware is detected, it’s likely the sites you visit that trigger the redirects. If that’s the case, install an adblocker program and have it enabled when visiting high-risk sites.
